The Book Of Promises 02/22/11

Before it was written
You could read it front and back
Litany in one direction
Round the corner to attack
For years it served its purpose
As a cavalcade of lies
Til it ran from its own page
And landed in your eyes
Now it is title less
Back from where it once was named
You no longer read it to the sky
It moved to bliss from shame
So you can leave it down there
In that cave of Iceland spar
There are no promises between us
Just you am and I we are
But if you look real close
You'll see the shadow of these oaths
Through that double glowing lens
You'll see forever in these ends
