I Don't Know What You Are Up To (early 1990's)

I don't know what you are up to
I only know that I am down
I don't want to know what you are doing
I'm getting lots of looks all over town

You watched me climb out of your car
And you watched the smile on my face fall
You watched the cars come at you on your way home
My shadow was no longer on your wall

I'm sorry I have to leave this way
I'm sorry this is how it's going down
I'm sorry I don't know what you are up to
I'm getting funny looks all over town

I said I wouldn't write one bad word about you
Even though I think I said them all
I wonder why I can't talk the way I write
Maybe then I could give you a call

You don't know what I am up to
You could probably guess my weight is down
I really haven't just felt like eating
Ever since you pulled out of town

I feel all alone when I am with people
My blood starts to boil and to cook
Even when I am all by myself
I still get all of those funny looks
