Fame 06/11/84

He'd wanted this for the longest time
Just a bit of fame
Nothing less, nothing more
Just to be rid of shame
Upturned faces looked at him
Filled with awe and fear
Blue suited men pushed them back
When they got too near
Barkers yelled for people to come
Filled the arena to the rim
Somehow though they seemed to be
Yelling up to him
His stunt began the crowd yelled and screamed
They looked like little mice
His life flashed by him in his mind
Indeed it flashed by twice
And as he plummeted from the sky
There wasn't a single sound
The firemen got out the safety net
Just as he hit the ground
