Fly Away '87

It used to be that i was the one who couldn't show
My eyes to your soul - didn't want you to know
But thin I let it loose - showed you in the full
You slammed your eyes shut - gave in to pressure's pull
A time is lost - a freedom found
Steamboat washed onto the ground
An era gone - nothing now remains
Holding back for fear that i would pull you in too far
Holding you in fear of a lonely persons scar
The ways of love and hate seem to run in parallel
I want to drag you down into the basement of my hell
A girl is gone - the music stays
Liars drift into the haze
A final conflict with a girl I know
Bruises on your feet but you don't seem to mind a bit
Tie-dyed t-shirts with a smile that doesn't seem to fit
Running down a tunnel with a train coming your way
I slammed my eyes shut and watched you fly away
